  1. Ah well, it seems to me you’ve overlooked a fairly crucial point here! (Love the poem, btw!) Yes, something does have to provide that spark, otherwise there is no inspiration…
The Muse? Why not? As good a name as any! But here’s the thing, Ryan – the million dollar question – why do you assume the Muse is female? Is it simply because you’re a man, or is there some other reason behind it?
Just asking because, for me, the Muse would have to be male! πŸ™‚

    • That’s a fair question! The most logical answer is that we’ve all been taught historically that the muses were all women. Much like the sirens, who were also women, the muses call to their victims and seduce them into doing their bidding. Come to think of it, and I’ll get slapped for this, muses are fickle, vengeful, jealous, and moody. All traits generally associated with women, not that I’M saying that personally. Besides, did you really want some hairy, wine swilling Greek man telling you what to do? The muse is MUCH more attractive than that!

      • Hmm…’hairy, wine swilling Greek man’? Nope, when you put it like that, it doesn’t sound to attractive to me either!
Maybe, if I agree that you’re right, your Muse will be so pleased with you, she’ll be kind, instead of jealous & moody?
        Good luck with her! πŸ™‚
